ENDOWMENT

Be a part of preserving the rich history of Iron County & the Upper Peninsula

The Museum Endowment Board was established in 1990 and manages a fund in perpetuity with the primary goal of covering the annual costs of staffing the Museum including modest salaries for a full-time director, part-time office manager and part-time maintenance manager. (The remainder of the work done on/at the museum is with volunteers.)

The fund has its own management structure, distinct from that of the museum. With the guidance of this board, the fund has preserved and modestly increased endowed capital by adhering to a strict investment funding policy.
The Museum Endowment Fund has provided substantial financial support to the Museum for the past several years, museum staffing costs, however, have started to outpace our funding.

To help us maintain and improve this support to the Museum, we are asking you to consider a gift to the “Iron County Museum Endowment Fund” to help ensure the continuation of the Museum’s outstanding historical and cultural services. Please consider a contribution of any kind now to allow us to continue to preserve Iron Count’s rich history and ensure the survival of the Museum.
Both the Endowment and the Museum are 501(c) 3 organizations and contributions may be considered tax deductible. Please contact your tax professional to determine your tax implications. Special considerations include direct transfers of stock investments with unrealized capital gains and IRA/401K RMD’s (required minimum distributions). These can be tax-free and not affect your tax rate or bracket, along with satisfying your RMD for the year. We can help facilitate with either of these transfers from your financial institution to the Endowment Fund. You may also consider us in your estate planning. Please call the Museum for assistance at (906) 265-2617.
Your gift, no matter the size, is deeply appreciated.
